The Daily: UW Research on the Map of Global Environmental Infrastructure Projects

Recently, Professor Jan Whittington served as a panelist at the International Conference on Disaster Resilient Infrastructure (ICDRI) in Washington, D.C. to discuss a partnership between universities and national and local climate infrastructure projects.

It’s quite easy for people around the world to think that universities are only interested in the pursuit of knowledge for academic purposes and academic applications. But the truth is that the University of Washington, like many universities, has a long history of community-engaged scholarship and public scholarship and the widespread application of our knowledge out in the field.

UW Sustainability: UW Solar Brings Renewable Energy to Campus

A recent article from the UW Sustainability blog shows the impact of UW Solar:

UW Solar has made impacts by generating power and energy all across campus. Since getting solar panels installed on the roof of Mercer Court in 2014, the group has grown and worked with campus partners to add solar to several West Campus residence halls and the new Life Sciences Building.
